Upper Elbow
The rotation of the body in this elbow strike is similar to the that used for the reverse punch, the difference being the upward motion of the forearm to enable you to strike with the elbow. Elbow strikes can be performed in a variety of ways; up, down, side and spinning. The impact point can be either the forearm or elbow depending upon the target area.

Considerations for the Upper Elbow technique:

  • This is more of a self defence technique, and is ruled as an illegal move in many competitions.
  • Strike with the elbow and / or forearm.
  • Can be performed with either arm.
  • All techniques should be practiced under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
